"The first Superbowl championship was held in 1967. Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35 to 10."

Malcolm Jenkins – The Nation’s Biggest Event

Super Bowl is the nations biggest event. Imagine an event that couples the nations biggest game with a concert that features the nation’s most influential gospel- recording artists. There really is no need to imagine, because such an event has been in existence for 14 years. Super Bowl Gospel Celebration brings athletes of America’s most beloved pastime together with the hottest gospel lineup.

Most may not consider pairing gospel and football. However, it was faith, prayer, and inspiration that led me to becoming a successful athlete. I am a fan of many different genres of music. It is gospel music that always has a sound message and encourages me to achieve success in my career as a professional athlete.

As a professional athlete, I face many challenges on and off the field. Being in the public eye magnifies our actions. One place I can always go to find a place of refuge from the magnifying glass is the church. For me, God has always been the one major factor behind my success and my sanity. Gospel music reminds me of God’s ultimate
plan of life and that no problem is too big for God to handle.

I am excited to be apart of the NFL’s only sanctioned gospel concert. I am also pleased to get to see one of my favorite artists perform at this year’s event. Christian hip-hop artist, Lecrae delivers inspiring words of encouragement in songs similar to popular hip-hop music. I’m thrilled to be a part of this event and I look forward to the live performances.
